There’s a good show on the ABC, on Friday
nights at eight
It’s kind of like a fishing show, but without
the usual bait
Out there on the Internet, you should take
care not to get hooked
And the people who will pass you by,
they’re all on FaceBook
A bloke named Neeve, but he spells it Nev,
it doesn’t matter much
He’s made a documentary about people who
have been touched
By those profiles there on FaceBook that are
not always what they seem
But do beware of who you "friend" while
you’re searching for your dream
Every chick’s a stunner, and every bloke's a
new Brad Pitt
Blonde, blue eyed with a gorgeous bod, that
girl she is a hit
Dark hair, bulked up, the square jaw look,
each bloke a Clooney clone
But just beware when you befriend her, and you only meet by phone
It’s called Catfish and it goes like this,
you get a message from the blue
That girl with the stunning figure, she wants
to get it on with you
“Oh wow” you think, she loves me true, so happy you're in love
She draws you in with her pretty eyes, and
you fit like hand in glove
Months then years they pass you by, a huge
investment in emotion
It rules your life, one day she’ll be your
wife, she repeats her devotion
But she will not meet you, or get on Skype,
you question but continue
All the time you are just wondering, what this
woman might see in you
Then one day young Nev turns up, and helps
you burst your bubble
His TV documentary he says might get you
out of trouble
He makes some calls, it seems so simple,
you could have done all this
Your perfect mate comes to the door, and
you forget about the bliss
That five-foot four slim beauty queen is
not quite what you had thought
She is quite round, but not a sound, she
looks like she’s been caught
But is could be worse, and as you curse,
you think what you have missed
If Jenny had been Benny, you would really
have been quite pissed
You’ve been had, by this FaceBook cad, who
said that she was so pretty
An overweight unattractive liar, can she
tell that you’re quite shitty
Your life of bliss, it’s gone up in smoke,
you really are quite miffed
Don’t despair, you’re not the first,
to have been right royally Catfished
