Everyone should
have a holiday, at least once every year
Get on a plane, a
boat, a bus, and get on out of here
Us, we went to
Vietnam, to celebrate a wedding
Our friends they chose to
tie the knot, and now up north they're heading
We did Saigon, or
Ho Chi Min, a very busy place
Three days there
in a flash hotel, then a drive at walking pace
Two days out on
the Mekong Delta, a fascinating sight
Filthy dirty I
would bet, but the people are alright
Then on a plane up
to Nha Trang, to the six star Mia Resort
Were the weddings
guests did congregate, for drinkies and some sport
We lazed around
like we owned the joint, a better place I’ve not been
And the wedding
was magnificent, a truly splendid scene
Back to the
airport, flew to Danang, in a colonial hotel we stayed
Not much traffic
in the air, but on the road my nerves are frayed
Met some Aussie
blokes who owned a bar, a father and a son
Three TVs with
the footy one, who could ask for so much fun
Hoi An is full of
history, the French influence still abounds
The sights and
smells are mystical, not to mention all the sounds
We strolled
around, and ate and drank, and did things at our leisure
Every moment
it was wonderful, the place it is a treasure
Then in the air
north to Hanoi, for our final days of rest
To Ha Long Bay
for overnight, the water was the best
The boat is fine,
the food and wine, the view it was a ripper
But peak hour out
on the Bay means you need a skillful skipper
Back to Hanoi for
two more nights, we're tired and it's cold
Today we did more
sightseeing, again, this place is old
Tomorrow morning we
depart and go back from whence we came
But you can be
your last and only Dong that we’ll be back again
We are both exhausted, we have seen and done so much
It feels much more
like a month that we’ve so out of touch
Still so much
more to see here and the people are so calm
Yes, we thoroughly
enjoyed the time we've spent in Vietnam
