March 11: Malaysia Flight MH370 ...

In the early hours it left the ground, it was destined for Shanghai
A man-made technological marvel, created just to fly
To ferry people around the world, wherever they want to go
How they manage to stay up there, I really do not know

In a few short hours they lost the blip, the radar screen was bare
One minute it glowed so brightly, the next moment it wasn’t there
We have a problem the spotter said, my blip has disappeared
At first there was no panic, but then came what they feared

There is no explanation, those in charge did seek to explain
This might sound surprising, but we have simply lost the plane
No report came from the captain before their radio it did die
Did it explode at forty thousand feet, or simply fall down from the sky

Did it disintegrate above the earth, or did it ditch at sea
Where is all the wreckage, where is the debris
How can it not be somewhere, every contact leaves a trace
To me the answer is quite simple, they’re not searching the right place

So many people left behind, and so much remains unknown
Two passengers with passports that we know were not their own
Was it terrorism or tragedy, accident or murder
How does something simply fall to bits that has the strength of a hardened girder

We wait here while the experts search, hypothesize and plan
There must be something somewhere, did it fly off to Japan
Was it hijacked and just flown away, to a city somewhere west
How do so many disappear, and leave their loved ones so distressed

We know that in the future, be it a week, a month, a year
There will be an answer, planes don’t just disappear
An explanation will come forth they will find the cause
But until that day the others they must put their lives on pause
